"It's hard to get a good psychologist" Why? Because we're all human. Transference is real, and an individual can only meet you as far as they've met themselves. No matter how much training, how much theory, and how many book hours - if the person responsible for supporting your care has not integrated or met aspects of themselves - when yours come up, they'll swap out non-judgemental space holding mode for direct advice giving mode. They'll cut off emotional expression that is vital for you to make it through what you're going through and proceed stronger. It's really a terribly sad thing - the psychologist feels they've given the most apt advice, the patient congratulates the psychologist on how right and insightful they are and.... Ends up stuck with the same part of their issue or condition because the root of it has not been touched and contended with. No one intends for this to happen, but because we are all human, and we rarely spend time attuning ourselves to the subtle internal resistance of our blind spots (I mean really who wants to live a life looking for the things their consciousness is trying to keep from them?), we end up having limits to the care we can provide another. That's why, in my eyes - a true healer masters all the theories, and the practices - but learns to interact with their patients on a human to human basis. And furthermore, develops a keen sense for their own internal judgement - so that it doesn't manifest in the form of wonderful advice and direct correction of the patient. If I was to work with a psychologist, I would need them to have: - done a large portion of shadow work - studied buddhist/zen philosophy - engaged in dream/vision interpretation - developed a strong relationship with archetype - have gone through great emotional crisis and pain - not subscribed to any one singular psychoanalytic theory - had heavenly and hellish psychedelic trips - a radical sense of sovereignty and individuation - not offloaded their belief authority to any institution or government system - understood the true value of "coaching" as a mirror, not as an instructor - and so much more... This is one of the best bits of feedback I've ever gotten - and it's all the more meaningful to me because of how much I respect this individual. @molty_27 is an absolute killer on the sales floor, intelligent beyond comprehension, and viciously committed to excellence in every way. A self describe "sales assassin", he knows his worth, and isn't a victim to false modesty. From D2D sales, to fast and hard convention booths, to multi-million dollar contracts, he's seen just about everything there is to in sales. The Art of Selling has been a lifelong passion for him, and in his words, bordering on an ADHD hyper fixation. Not only is he constantly pushing himself to improve, but has invested in the above mentioned, top tier programs, along with Ziegler, Straight Line Persuasion, Solutions Selling, Consultative and the list goes on - to get this feedback from him, tells me something that I was already aware of - but it feels fantastic to receive such an honest bit of feedback, and for what I've put together to impact someone already so flush with sales knowledge. It's more than sales training, and that's why I love it. All the more valuable, I know I can trust his feedback because the guy is honest as they come and isn't afraid to tell it like it is. Do gooders: learning lessons doesn't determine your value. And... don't get attached to being unattached from learning (if you listened to the whole post) Objectify your skills... but not your value. Take joy - en-joy your learning process. And when you can't, that's okay. You don't have to. You don't have to do anything - even acceptance is not a must. But you get a lot more fruit that way. ...don't you just love that freeze frame? 😉

This might sound a little cheesy... It even sounds a bit cheesy to me as I sit here saying it. Because, I'm not fully in touch with the reality where I don't actually know if I'll be here tomorrow, or not. Funny, isn't it? I don't suggest that we can be in that state in every moment. Maybe some of you can. But I cant. Instead, I give myself acceptance for how I'm feeling, without fighting to change it. Even if I'm in a "taking it for granted" mode. Because acceptance, that does seem to be controllable. Sometimes. And when it's not... I can accept that 🙃 I think there's value in all the states. Many of them, for learning what we don't want. Some of them, learning what we do want. Those desirable moments, for me, are typically colored by an intense sense of presence. This morning, I saw a video of one of the healthiest, wisest wrestlers that I know, @benaskren first speaking after 45 days in a coma, having died four times, waking up after a lung transplant. And, knowing about his situation has really pressed me, because he is not the body I would expect to fall ill so rapidly. It took me at least 50% of the way to actual reality - where I'm in touch with my own mortality. It's not dark, nor a bad thing (when I accept it, anyway). Most of us drive on a daily basis. Most of us will step outside. The chances of something happening is far from zero. That doesn't always hit me. But this morning, seeing him unrecognizable because of the weight loss, I realized I might not be here tomorrow. And even though I don't feel that in complete way (as I have in the past), I can trace my footsteps from when I was last. So I'm going to do everything I would today. I'm not gonna fly across the country to be with a loved one. I'm not going to do anything drastic. None of that would truly serve that feeling I'm (we) looking for. I'm not going to say goodbyes, or try to make peace with dying. Drama doesn't seem to aid presence. (CONTINUED IN COMMENT)

CMV: Disagreement is the 6th love language It certainly is one of mine. It builds trust, when two people are able to passionately disagree, yet maintain fairness and benefit of the doubt for the other I really love arguing on reddit. It helps me to discern what I think, and there's all sorts of juicy extreme examples to play in - which are like rorschach blots - fantasies of sorts, that within which I can find my own beliefs But more than that, I get to witness my reactions to things, see what I react strongly to, and get a much better and more raw analysis of who I currently am To boot, all of my communications are public, up for criticism, and I get to look back to see how I behaved in a given argument on a given topic. It's highly revealing. Not for the faint of heart... It all started back in 2020 when I decided I would try to hone my verbal communications skills, by trying to debate earnestly online (which is typically fraught with the worst kinds of showings of people, hyper polarized, and lacking the human touch that helps people be reasonable). I figured, by throwing myself into the fire, I would learn to be effective at communicating even in the most toxic scenarios. Has it always been beneficial? No. Have the moments of non-benefit ultimately contributed to a wide and rich experience whose sum total is beneficial? Yes. Do I always show up in a way I'd be proud of? No. Does that allow me the insight to see where I'm not integrated? Yes. And it forces me to break down the image of perfection some of us tend to try to burden ourselves with. I want your thoughts! I'm getting really antsy to post this. I've completed the drawing, theres prints coming to see me on Monday since I finished editing. Im not sure whats stopping me from posting the whole thing but it doesn't feel right yet. So, have a teaser. (Info on the inspiration below) There's only going to be FIFTEEN copies of the first run of this, and im not sure when I will ever print another batch. You can DM me since I still don't trust myself to keep up with an online store. "Nothing is personal" You mightve noticed this on the plank of wood leading into the bowels of this nightmare drama. It's because I grew sick of this wisdom from The Four Agreements being so useful in my life. It was and still is one of the deepest wisdoms in my life. But I was and still am sick of applying it. When will it ever be personal? Could it? Are we all truly just trapped in our own reality bubbles? You, merely a figment of my mind who will consume me, attack me or love me based on the whims of your survival preference? Or is there humanness, and other conscious things outside of my shell, my snow globe? This whole piece is an ode to that which pains me. And instead of trying to be some mystical big brother persona making love look cool, i decided to join the rabble and not protect anyone. It's the victimized perspectives of mine. The kind of logic untampered with by faith beyond reason. The kind of logic that has let go of the need to find something transcendent. The kind of logic that stops trying to put lipstick on a pig, and decides that's just what reality is - a hungry, carnivorous pig. I don't want to think or feel these ways. And I hope that this expression will help me. "Vivamus Moriendum Est" - let us live since we must die. A bold and faithful statement to make. I will enter despite the perils, because I will choose to sanctify life despite its unsavory features. It's placement on this piece is a perversion of that ethic. Or maybe, it's an expression of my disappointment or loss of heart in such a statement. Excited to see the rest?

It's not what I wanted. It's not what I want. But most of the time lately, anything I write isn't anyway. -- The prose that came to me when this piece had its inception: "My heart is breaking and my raft is sinking. It's time to go live underwater. Even if it scars my heart, I just want to see the dark" It was an effort to strive against the conditioning to be a person who I think I am supposed to be - this piece is an inversion of and a spitting on of any and all "wisdom" I've collected and tried to put to use in my life. I'm sick of feeling like I must be a big brother to reality. It's a goof of an ego trip, and yet it is on pain of something far worse than death that I fear giving it up. -- The four agreements says to take nothing personally. Well personally, I'm sick of that advice being useful. When can it be personal? Is there really anyone else even out there? I can't tell whether it'd be worse or better if there were. Sorry, not sorry. - Michael

Another super oldie from the beginning of my adult drawing journey. Sept 2020, for my dad. Built on the idea that we all come a variety of stories, thoughts and beliefs that are not a perfect foundation for faith, and still, faith prospers in us. Not the kind that's tied to a religion. Faith in the greatest sense. Betting on the world, the self, humans and nature. Faith is found in our walk. The theories we form about people, about how things work, made tangible in our act. Partially inspired by @akirathedon And @alanwattsorg The song is in the post. Cheers @plaiche
